LeadBind Docs

Overview

What LeadBind enforces for you, and what stays your responsibility. Start here.

Calling and texting people is regulated, and the penalties are per message. This section is the plain-language version of what you need to know.

Important: This is not legal advice. It is how LeadBind behaves and what the rules generally require. Your industry, your state, and your carrier may demand more. If you are unsure about your situation, ask a lawyer, not a docs page.

The split

Some of this we enforce for you in code. Some of it we cannot, because it depends on facts only you know.

What LeadBind does for you

  • Says it is an AI. The assistant discloses that it is an artificial-intelligence assistant at the start of the call. This is not a setting you can turn off. See Disclosing the AI.
  • Honors STOP immediately. A reply of STOP adds that number to your do-not-contact list and blocks further texts, across every automation. See Consent and opt-outs.
  • Checks the do-not-contact list before every send. Not just at the start of a sequence. Every message.
  • Holds outbound to daytime hours. Automated texting runs 8am to 6pm in your set timezone, not at 2am because a form came in at 2am.
  • Refuses non-transactional email without a physical mailing address on file. CAN-SPAM requires one. If it is missing, the send is blocked rather than sent illegally.
  • Never quotes regulated products. The assistant does not bind coverage, quote rates or APRs, promise credit outcomes, or give valuations. See What it says and why.
  • Keeps recordings inside LeadBind. They are never available to a connected AI assistant, the CLI, or the API. See Call recording.

What is on you

  • Having the right to contact the person at all. We cannot know where a phone number came from. A purchased list is your risk, not ours. See Consent.
  • Holding the licenses your work requires, and completing every regulated sale yourself.
  • What your script says. You wrote it. If it promises something you cannot deliver, that is yours.
  • Registering for business texting. Carriers require it. See A2P.
  • Your own recording disclosure where your state requires all parties to agree.
  • Choosing an AI provider, if you connect one. See What we send.

The five-minute version

If you read nothing else:

  1. Only contact people who asked to hear from you, or who you have a real, documented prior relationship with. "I found their number" is not consent.
  2. Honor every opt-out instantly and permanently. LeadBind does this automatically. Do not undo it by re-importing an old list.
  3. Keep your records. Where the lead came from, when, and what they agreed to. If you are ever challenged, the records are the entire defense.
  4. Do not text before you are registered. See A2P.
  5. Assume the call is recorded and act like it. Because it is.
