Test before you go live

Call it yourself first. The five checks, then how to try to break it.

Call it yourself before your customers do. Ten minutes now beats a bad first impression you never hear about.

Use a phone that is not in your LeadBind account, so you get the real experience.

The five checks

1. Does it say it is an AI?

It should, within the first few seconds, along with your business name. If the business name is wrong, fix it in Branding.

This disclosure is automatic and not configurable. See Disclosing the AI.

2. Does it get your business right?

Ask a normal customer question. Then ask something you do not do.

It should handle the first one and politely rule out the second. If it agrees to a job you do not take, your script is missing its "what we do not do" section.

3. Does it offer times that actually work?

Try to book. Listen to the times it offers.

  • Are they inside hours you actually work?
  • Is the first one far enough out that you could get there?
  • Does it offer anything at all?

If it has nothing, open Availability. It is almost always minimum notice or the daily cap.

4. Does the appointment land on your calendar?

Book one. Then look at your actual Google Calendar, not just the LeadBind bookings list.

If it is not there, Google Calendar is not connected, or you connected a calendar you do not use. See Availability.

5. Does the confirmation arrive?

Check the phone and the email you booked with.

Nothing? Check A2P registration for texts and the email settings for email. See Reminders and confirmations.

Then try to break it

The five checks prove it works. This part shows you what your customers will actually do.

  • Interrupt it mid-sentence. It should stop and listen, not talk over you.
  • Mumble. Say a name unclearly. Watch how it recovers.
  • Ask something off-script. It should admit it does not know rather than invent an answer. If it invents, that question belongs in your script.
  • Ask for a price. It should not give one. If it does, a price is in your script. Take it out.
  • Say you are not interested. It should end politely, not push.
  • Ask "am I talking to a robot?" It should say yes.

Fix and repeat

Change one thing, call again. Not five things.

If it sounds stiff or rushed, that is voice and pacing rather than the script.

Only then turn on automation

With calls sounding right:

  1. Speed to lead: new leads get called in seconds
  2. Reminders: cut no-shows
  3. Follow-up: work the ones who did not answer

Do it in that order. Each one puts the assistant in front of more people, so you want the calls right first.

Important: Before any of it touches a real prospect, be sure you are allowed to contact them. See Consent and opt-outs.
